Emily felt her face burn in anger when she saw where his eyes were focusing. Same old Kevin, but no, while that lingering feeling of terror was still there she was stronger now. Surely there was a cop around. Sam used to patrol the parks. One of his friends might stop by...also there were people around, he wouldn't do anything to her. Also if needed she hand a handy little can of pepper spray in her purse. Now the only problem would be how to get it out without him noticing.
Emily clenched her fists at her side trying to react like a grown up, "Fine hi Kevin, I need to be going now. My children will be getting home from school soon and I like to be there to greet them." She turned and that is when she felt it. She couldn't move her feet. The anger she had melted away into absolute terror, she was trapped. What was to stop him from making her arms not being able to move either.
She shut her eyes as he started to mention about 'the Emily he used to know.' Then he continued on about her father and his wives. She couldn't hold back anymore. Suddenly her feel were free and she turned to him and slapped him across the face, "Don't you dare think you can talk to me like that anymore. You don't scare me anymore Kevin. And you're one to talk about Daddy issues," she tried to compose herself somewhat, "I'm married now Kevin, to a cop, so don't do anything you don't want reported. I'm the one with the upper hand this time, take your best shot." Her pepper spray laid forgotten in her purse. He wouldn't do anything, deep down he was a coward. Also if he wanted to scare her by using his powers she couldn't wait to see how scared he'd get if she started using hers.
