Abby laughed at his comment about the art classes his kids were at. "It's good exposure for them. Not that being in the city won't be enough, but still. And they get to do something with Mary-Beth instead of just scribbling all over the paper. ...and the table too probably." Abby's smile kind of faded when she realized just how messy kids could be, especially when there were multiples. She definitely was not looking forward to that part of motherhood.
"You might have to wait on that a bit. I don't remember when he said his next project will be done." She made a mental note to remind Carter. It'd be good to have someone other than her mother-in-law sitting next to her at the screenings. There wasn't anything wrong with Madison, but she wasn't exactly someone Abby wanted to joke around with like someone her own age.
Abby gave J.J. a stern look. "I'd rather keep this one cooking a little longer than get her out sooner but really, the city's always hot. We've been here for how long now? Haven't you picked up on the disgusting amounts of sweat drenching your beard and messy hair during all of June, July, and August?" Abby shrugged. She didn't want to think about heaving the bowling ball out just yet. "Besides, the longer they stay in, the longer we get to put off changing diapers and the more sleep Carter at least gets."
