Abby crinkled her brow when J.J. called her baby a 'fetus.' Sure, she was a bio buff and knew that the technical term was fetus but something about that term outside of a lab made Abby cringe. It made her baby seem less real, less human and the last thing she could be doing right now was not living up to the fact that this baby was very real and coming very soon.
"Well that's good. How's your wife and kids? Are the little ones in school yet?" It was funny how things had turned out. Almost everyone they had grown up with already had at least one munchkin running around... and then there was Carter and Abby, just about to have their first kid. They had apparently missed the 'have kids young' memo.
Abby eyed her bump when J.J. brought up the baby and took another bite from her sandwich. "We've been good. Carter's keeping busy with a few new projects; I've been teaching. And this one's been having a grand old time kicking around in there. I'm not due for a few more months. Being pregnant and fat up till the middle of the summer in the city should be fun." Cue the sarcasm.
