But Alex was good to Josie, and Jacen probably knew this. He tried to smile when it was Jacen who answered the door, rather than Josie. Sure, this was kind of random, but he'd been in the neighbourhood, so what better excuse did he need to stop by and see Josie? After a brief exchange, Alex went into the house behind Jacen, and smiled brightly when he saw the Xbox out. Looked like Halo, but he couldn't be sure. While he waited for Josie, he decided to watch Jacen. The guy was good. Really good. Better than Alex, he thought, but he couldn't let that show. Besides, it was Halo. That was the casual gamer's dream. Alex would have loved to see him play a real man's game.
"You're good," he said to the other boy as he turned to look at him for a moment. "You playing solo or online right now? Mind if I jump in?"
