It had been a rough few weeks. It had been one thing when Alan Dale had killed himself. That had been awful. But this? Bobby had lost her mind and shot and killed two people. She was in the same grade as James. and she'd known Bobby through Tino if only vaguely. Every time she saw Katie Baker, she felt a little nauseous, thinking of the kind of hole that would be left if Ben was killed. Gone. Just like that. And then there had been Macy, who had just been trying to help. It was still strange not seeing her around town. It just seemed so impossible that this sort of thing had happened to people she knew. It was the sort of thing that showed up on one of those Oxygen channel shows about how women had finally had enough. It wasn't supposed to affect her, even if it was mostly by proxy.
Tino was the real problem. James had been his best friend, and he was understandably not taking things too well. Mia had spent a lot of time over the past few weeks at his place, some days more than others. Some days she stayed a while, and some days, when it was obvious she wasn't wanted, she made herself sparse. Still. She tried to go by every day, if only to make sure he was alright.
Nico let her in downstairs, and she gave him a weak smile that he returned, before she made her way up to Tino's room. She gave two soft knocks and pushed it open, eyeing the back of his head. "Hi," she greeted softly, dropping her bag to the floor with little grace.
