Evan smelled so nice. He was so warm, too, as she shifted her forehead further down into his chest, grinning at one of his stupid jokes. He was so crass sometimes, but she loved him for it. Her mouth opened to respond, but she was interrupted by a sharp jab in her side. "Ow," she mumbled, frowning slightly. What was that? Another jab. Evan voice was fading away, and she realized, much to her dismay, that she was waking up.
It had been happening for the past few days. She'd been dreaming about him since he'd been gone, and the reality was always so much more dismal than her warm dreams had been.
But wait- his voice was coming back? Natalie's eyes fluttered open, and though it took a moment for her vision to focus, she knew it was him. She grinned softly. Dream within a dream. She could live with that. She shifted forward, back into the position she had been previously (in dreamland anyway) and let her eyes shift closed again. "Are you ever coming back?" she breathed.
