Olivia had been doing her best to try and keep the kids busy with other things once they were out of school for the day. Death was nothing new to her kids though Rose had only been a few months old when her mother had passed away in her sleep. It had taken weeks of reassuring then five year old Jon that there was nothing to be afraid of going to bed. Despite not being very religious it had also been the time they'd taught him "Now I lay me down to sleep". Years of first graders finding the class pet had died before she got an opportunity to get a new one had also led to a number of class discussions. In general, when it came to the topic of death and talking with kids, Olivia had turned into a pro.
Now if only she had figured out what to do about brooding husbands who had just lost their father in one of the worst ways possible. Also in possibly one of the least expected ways when it came to a family that had never been the sort to give up on anything. She had made sure everyone was tucked in before going back to the living room. She had made an effort to keep her footsteps from being very loud before standing in the doorway with her arms crossed just watching him. It didn't seem like there was anything she was going to be able to say or do that was going to draw out some of that anger. Still, to try was better than to sit back and watch as it poisoned him further. "Everyone should be about to sleep... Even Arty curled up on the foot of Rose's bed."
