Who: Maribel Swafford and Mallorie Swafford
What: Grading Papers
When: Friday afternoon
Where: Frye Cafe
Rating: Low
It was early afternoon when Mari left the school and arrived at the Cafe to grade some papers. Normally, she would have gone straight home, as there was no place in the world she loved more. However, she was unusually behind on her grading. Consciously, she really wasn't sure why, though if her dreams as of late were any indication, it was likely the fact that she couldn't get her sister out of her mind. Even after all the years that had passed since the government take over, Mari still remembered the time she spent with her beloved sister and their mother, especially during Holy Week.
In fact, as she stared out the window of the Cafe, Mari couldn't help but wonder what her sister was doing now. She must still remember that today was the day Jesus died for their sins, to save them all. She must remember coming home from school and sitting with their mother quietly around 3 o'clock, the hour that Jesus passed. She must still remember. Did she?
Mari was pulled out of her thoughts by someone walking into the Cafe. Her eyes trailed the person, and she smiled when they finally caught her eye. She hadn't even made a dent on her papers, but she wasn't going to be rude to the person as they made their way over to where she was.
