There was a quick nod before Ethan placed Sansa next to Tiberius in the playpen and made his way over to Neil. He picked up a Coke bottle along the way and popped it open, taking a swig before looking over the barbecue. He pretended to check his watch as if to say that Neil had taken quite a bit of time getting it set up. "We should have enough food for anyone that shows up. Hell, we'll probably have extra. More than we know what to do with."
He casually slipped a finger through a strap on Neil's pants and tugged on it a little. It would have been sexy had Kitty not decided to yell, "EW! DAAAAADDIIIIES, LOGAN PUT BOOGERS ON MEEEEE!" at that very second. Ah, the life of parents. No privacy. Suddenly, Ethan knew exactly how Danielle felt in those early years of her kids' lives. It was an insane yet incredibly amazing feeling. "Logan, that's disgusting! Keep your boogers in your nose. Or at least use a napkin." He sighed. "So uncivilized."
Their conversation didn't miss a beat despite the interruption. They had kids around long enough to get used to the interruption and learn how to work their way around them. "I never got that guy, you know? He was just one of these people who walked around with all these secrets. Or, I dunno, it always seemed that way to me."
