Gabby looked Seth in the eye as he vented. She didn't want to hear any more about what had happened today. What happened, had happened and there was no changing the past, especially since they didn't have a time traveler. Instead, Gabby stayed silent and let Seth just keep going on about what had happened on the battle field today. She watched him sink to the floor and she too knelt on the floor in front of him, her legs folded but propping her up.
"I'll talk to her." Gabby was no match for Morgan but maybe Morgan would listen to her, or perhaps Mandy would listen and try to get through to her other half. Either way, Gabby took a deep breath and just looked at Seth. She wanted to get his mind off of what happened but she knew that he was probably expecting her to respond to what he had said. What was she supposed to say though? That she wanted her husband to be the sacrificial lamb on the battle field and give up her and Daniel? That she wanted to him to die over some other person? Gabby couldn't say that.
Not knowing exactly what to say, Gabby just looked at Seth lovingly. She was slightly amazed at how much he had changed over the past ten years but she wanted her husband back, not a warrior. "I'm proud of you," she said, stroking one of his cheeks, "and I'm proud to be your wife. And I love you no matter what happens out there, even if you have twenty more days like today and fail every single time."
She paused and let her hand fall from his cheek, reaching gently for his hands. "And you know who else is proud of you?" Gabby looked over, back at the room where people were bustling around to tend to the wounded. She spotted a small boy on the floor with messy brown hair, arranging blocks in alphabetical order by using his power. She looked back at Seth and smiled lovingly.
