As Seth held up the kid on the table, Gabby looked behind his shoulder to see two exit wounds from the bullets. Before continuing her conversation with Seth, she looked down at the boy. "You're going to be fine, you just need some bandages and time to heal if Jimmy doesn't come around later tonight." She set up the kit and started to pull pieces of fabric out of the wound to clean it up before she could bandages on it.
Gabby looked back up at Seth briefly as he talked and then back down at the kid on the table. "Are you really that surprised?" She raised her eyebrows and let them fall. Seth was smart but sometimes Gabby wondered if this battle was just a huge game of chess for him. It would have been great to have a more practiced precog on their side but at the expense of losing seven of their fighters? Gabby wouldn't risk it.
She had almost finished cleaning out one side of the wounds when she heard Seth give her the actual count of how many they lost. Her head jerked up out of surprise and she made eye contact with him but then looked back down at the kid. She sighed as he started rattling off all of the powers they had lost. Hopefully that wouldn't be a huge set back for them just at the expense of gaining one. Gabby was about to speak when she noticed that Seth had left and gone to the hall. She grabbed some ripped up linens and stuffed it into the boy's hand. Smiling at him lovingly she said, "Put that on the wounds until I get back, okay?"
Gabby trailed after Seth down the hall and when he stopped his head rested against the wall, she went over to him. She cupped one side of his face and tilted her head to get a better look at him. "Seth, look at me," she said softly.
