Gabby pulled away from the kiss and looked Seth sternly. Her expression shifted almost immediately to one of a concerned mother. She ran her hands through Daniel's hair and kissed the top of her baby's head. She didn't want him hearing any of it so she painted a smile on her face. "Daniel, can you go play with your new blocks? Can you make the alphabet out of them and show daddy what we've been working on? We'll be over in a few minutes." She smiled encouragingly at her baby and he smiled and nodded vigorously, wiggling out of Seth's arms and running over to the bucket of blocks they had for him in their bedroom.
As soon as Daniel was out of ear shot, Gabby looked back at Seth. "What happened?" She nodded for him to come over to where everyone who was injured was laying. She had been reading some of the books that Mandy had from medical school when she was still enrolled and Morgan had taught her a few things that came in handy when people got hurt so that the burden wasn't solely on her. Gabby looked at a boy who was in his twenties and laying down. He had two bullet wounds in one of his shoulders. Gabby pulled off his shirt and motioned for Seth to help prop one side of him up so she could see if the bullets had gone through or gotten lodged somewhere.
