Her ear was suddenly assaulted by music. Loud music. Josie was already at the dance. Either her and James had agreed to meet each other there, or James was a lot quicker than she thought he was. Regardless, she had to turn her phone down a few clicks before she could adequately make out that Josie had answered and spoken words.
"Hi, Josie?" Her voice was softer than she wanted it to be, which was a problem considering that the girl she was trying to talk to was obviously at a boisterous party. "It's Bobby." She was also trying to hold back a large amount of sobs that were threatening to escape. "How-how's the dance?"
