Bobby hesitated. She didn't like dealing in extremes. Never seemed so concrete. She hadn't used that word. He did. And it wasn't necessarily true. "I didn't say that." She looked down at her hands. It was hard to imagine herself without James. They had been dating for nearly a year, about to celebrate their anniversary on Valentine's Day. They had been friends for even longer than that. She wasn't ready to just let that go. Not yet.
"I just. I need to sort some things out. I'm not sure what I saw. The only thing I know is that it looked just like you, but that you said it wasn't. What would you do if you were me, James?" She looked back up at him. Her eyes were glistening over, but she was willing herself not to cry. He just looked so... hurt.
