If Nathan was happy at the change of attitude in his wife, Scott was ecstatic. One could never know just how much they were in the doghouse without sleeping on the couch for nearly six months straight. His back was a fucking mess, and it showed on his face sometimes when he walked. But, nothing could ruin his mood today. Last night he'd slept in a bed. A real, mattress topped, sheet and comforter covered bed. It was amazing what difference a good night's sleep could do.
He entered Samuel's house, gave everyone a cheery smile and moved to stand near Nathan, patting him on the back. It was Nathan's wife, Jen, who'd given Scott the advice he'd needed to get Ari to cave, though he still wasn't sure exactly what he'd done. But. He had to hand it to the man. His wife knew her stuff. He could only assume it was because he was a therapist.
"Nathan, right?" he asked, nodding. "How are you?"
