Who Katie and Ben What Catching up Where The Baker residence When Friday afternoon Rating TBD Status Incomplete
Three months was quite a bit of time to go without spending time with your best friend. Sure, Ben had a few classes with Katie, and they were at the same lunch table, but things were off. They just weren't the same. He didn't want to flat out call it awkward, because it wasn't. Not exactly. He didn't want to blame it on the events of that day, because there hadn't been anything weird about it. It was more like Katie had needed space to be Katie, and Ben was more than willing to give it to her. That was what friends did, right? Anyway, he hoped that was all that was going on. Because he was really starting to miss her, despite the fact that she was never really all that far away.
He had been sitting on the idea of just showing up to hang out for most of the week. Friday rolled around and he talked himself into it. After school, he threw his bag in his room, grabbed a snack and hurried over to the Baker's house, before Katie could have time to make other plans. He knocked on the door before opening it enough to poke his head in. "Anyone home?" He had been letting himself into their house for years now, but announcing his presence seemed like the right thing to do at the moment.
