"Rest assured, you won't have to do that assignment." As much as he knew some of the teachers would love pull something like that on her, Samuel was almost positive none of them wanted a girl Kaylee's age reminding them of their Anatomy & Physiology days. Plus, as long as she handed in her assignments, there wasn't going to be a need for her to try and make up for lost time. It wasn't like she was a half wit who needed someone watching over her studies anyways.
Samuel smiled at her response to being stuck on the island. Leave it to a child to find the beauty in a place like this. Most of the other kids had written about wanting to get off this dreary rock and onto the mainland, or perhaps somewhere exotic. And yet Kaylee thought that it wasn't all too bad here. Samuel found her interesting, to say the least. He took note of the smile on her face too. He was glad to see it - she was always looking so serious about school and life in general.
He chuckled a little at how she felt the need to clarify the nature of her question. "Of course. Feel free to ask personal questions." It wasn't like Samuel was going to be sharing all of his secrets with a junior in high school. But if she happened to have questions about taking care of babies or relationships, he wouldn't be opposed to answer those either.
