Samuel smiled and stuffed his hands in his pockets to keep warm. He hadn't thought about how it might look weird if he was seen walking alone with the pregnant teenager on the island. "You'll have to try spread your enthusiasm for going to school, to your peers as I'm afraid some of them would rather be in your position at the moment."
He nodded. Hopefully she wouldn't go into labor while they were walking around just now. Not that he would mind, but he wasn't exactly the prime candidate to hold her hand through something like this. "That's rather ambitious of you. Would you like me to find someone to escort you down the hall while you're in a wheelchair? I'm sure someone at the high school would love to get out of class a few minutes early to wheel you to your locker and next class." He smirked and chuckled a little at the thought.
"There is indeed, even if it doesn't amount to much on this island. It's something though." He looked around and took in the houses that they were passing. Part of him felt bad that this was pretty much all that Kaylee and the rest of the kids had seen of the world. It was nice, and it was their home, but there were better things out there than Frye Island.
