Who: Johnny and Bast Songbird When: Friday evening Where: Radio Station What: Johnny gets an odd request over the radio
Friday nights working at the radio station proved to be a chore for Johnny. This whole week had been difficult too. The long hours spent compiling playlists and randomly jumping in with a commentary or two were made shorter by his ability to do homework while there. Fridays were slow homework days. This past week they had all still been on winter break. So no homework there for the most part. It was during one of these boring shifts that Johnny got an idea. Why not open up the phone lines and let people request songs? Maybe even put some of the calls on air? When he'd done it the first time, he was surprised to get a decent turn out.
As the last bit of one song faded back into the background jingle for when he went live, Johnny came on the air again. "And that was an oldie but a goodie with Lady remixed by Modjo. It is Friday night with DJ Johnny Jones, and the phone lines are full." He pressed a button on the phone next to him to take the first call. "WFRI, you're on the air."
"Hi Johnny, it's your mother. Do you remember where I left my black journal?"
Johnny rolled his eyes. "Mom..." He sighed. "Your satanic ritual book was on the microwave last time I saw it."
"Hmm... Oh! Yep. There is it. Thanks, baby. Have a good show!"
"And thanks to you, Mom, for calling in and completely embarrassing me." He pressed another button and shook his head.
