Who: Alfie and Natalie What: Job Hunting Where: Elwood Rocks When: Wednesday after school Rating: Low
A distraction. That was all Alfie needed was a distraction. The holidays had been less than exciting what with half the town mourning the death of some suicidal kid that was Nico's brother's best friend or something. It didn't help that he and Laney had broken up either. He wasn't as upset about it anymore. Now, he was just feeling numb about the whole thing. His first real girlfriend, and they had barely made it to what? A few months? Second base? Alfie wanted some real experience. Laney had been a great girlfriend, but they were both young and had no idea what they were doing. Alfie felt like he was growing up and wanted more action. Perhaps from an older woman.
The decision had been surprisingly easy to make. As he pushed the door to Elwood Rocks open, Alfie wondered why he had never thought about this before. Or perhaps he had but being involved with sports and Laney had kept him away from work. Sure he'd had a part time in the summer, but now that school was back in, he'd opted out of work. For once though, he was showing initiative when it came to getting a job. He shivered in the entrance for a moment, warming up a bit before heading over to the desk and grabbing a blank application form and a clipboard. He leaned against the nearest wall and pulled his pen out from behind his ear. Okay Alfie, you can do this. And with a deep breath, he set out to fill out the application hopefully without too many distractions.
