In between getting dressed and dodging her mother's 300 unimportant questions about tonight, it took Sasha nearly two hours to get ready for New Years Eve with Nico, and she was sure hoping to go out with a bang. She had been polite to his parents, almost seeming at ease with them despite them being adults. She wasn't as adept at talking to adults as her sister was, but she could manage just fine. About a dozen rules had already been broken tonight, most notably the one where the parents had to be around at all times. Sasha wasn't going to mention that little detail to her mother of course. The night went by smoothly still and before they knew it, the time had arrived to ring in the new year. It was a good thing Sasha had gone to freshen up about a half hour earlier. Her lipstick had been looking a bit on the dull side.
"Other than breaking my record for fastest mile from this year and getting the chance to sing for the President of the United States? Nope. Not really." She smiled at him and adjusted herself so that she was almost facing him. "What about you?" She couldn't even imagine what sort of new years resolution he would have. He was already practically perfect. And his house was so warm and inviting. She could have drifted off into her own fantasy world and dreamed a thousand dreams of living with him in this house like a princess with her prince. Some things weren't ever going to change no matter how many years went by. And Sasha's imagination was one of those things that would remain in tact forever.
