Nora tended to be oblivious sometimes. Usually, when it mattered most, she was pretty sharp. However, at the moment, she was in such a good mood that she didn't initially get a good feel for the man. He seemed friendly enough, and Nora remembered being new to the island herself. It was overwhelming at first, though gradually, she got used to it like most things in her life. She smiled at him politely and took his hand. "Hello John. Welcome! My name is Nora Ramsey. And I see you've found our humble theater here. Are you a patron of the arts?"
Friendly. Nora was just trying to be friendly and welcoming. Of course, his second question, though understandable, threw her off slightly. It wasn't the question itself that she took issue with. Perhaps it had just been the way he had said it. Despite her gut instinct, Nora continued to be her usual nice self. "Of course," she responded helpfully, "I'll do my best to answer what I can." Though Nora was smart, she was no intellectual. She didn't know the finer details of the project, the science-y stuff, but she could manage all right.
"Would you like to speak in my office? I could always get someone to cover the booth while I'm gone. Oh! How rude of me. We're having a breakfast this morning. Feel free to make yourself a plate."
