Nico hadn't driven, so it had taken him a bit longer to get there, though it was probably for the best in the long run. The exercise helped ebb away some of the tension in his shoulders, though it was still very much present, and gave him a bit of time to calm himself down before he met up with Sasha. Normally, this was the sort of time when he took out everything on his punching bag that his mother had installed, but he didn't want to have to see Toni, or Tino or Luc for that matter.
Nico hesitated a moment as the lifeguard stand and Sasha came into view, and he swallowed thickly as he took a moment to gather himself as best he could. He was pretty sure he hadn't succeeded in playing this off as just another routine walk, but he'd do his damndest.
"Hey," he greeted softly as he finally came up next to her. "This was kind of a dumb idea, huh? It's freezing." He forced out a weak laugh that sounded as awkward as it felt as he shoved his hands into his pockets.
