Mary Ann shook her head. She understood the disbelief, she still felt it. It had caused her to waste time standing there and staring when she should have been calling for help. But she refused to tell Toni that the scissors had still been in his hand. They didn’t both need to be scarred forever with the image. Even still she couldn’t really believe it but that was the only thing that made since. She sniffled and held him not intending on letting go until he decided to let go first. “I know he wasn’t.” She mumbled unable to contradict everything else he said. It wasn’t like she was doing very well in the past versus present tense either right now with only a few exceptions.
