Who: Katie and Ben
When: backdated to Friday, right after Emily tells Katie about the kiss between her and Calvin
Where: Ben’s house
Rated: TBD?
Katie was frantic. A thousand emotions were running through her head right now. Anger, frustration, panic, jealousy, and selfishness were just part of the tip of the iceberg. It was a complicated situation from so many angles, and she wasn’t quite sure which single feeling she wanted to focus on. The easiest to settle with, of course, was anger with jealousy following close behind. How could Emily do this to her? How could Calvin do this to her? Sure, they’d broken up close to eight months ago, but it hadn’t been a mutual thing. They’d still loved each other, right? Or at least that was the impression she had picked up from him, especially with him coming into Frou Frou’s to practically stalk her. Wasn’t the only reason they weren’t together his power? As far as she knew, Calvin still saw the future. So what was the difference between Katie and Emily? Wasn’t she good enough?
The answer, sadly, was slapping her in the face repeatedly. It was clear as fucking daylight as Emily guiltily told her all the gruesome details. He had kissed her. He had decided he wanted to kiss her, and then did it. Katie wasn’t good enough. But for some reason, Emily was. And it was fucking with poor Katie to no avail. She was just as pretty as Emily. She was just as smart-- maybe even smarter-- as Emily. Sure, she couldn’t sing, but Katie could play a mean game of volleyball when her powers weren’t acting up. And yet, Katie was not the one making out with Calvin anymore. No. Her best friend was. Or, she supposed, former best friend, since there was some sort of girl code that was clearly broken.
She wasn’t quite sure who to turn to anymore. She had other friends at school. Her lunch table friends would surely back her up. But she was embarrassed, and didn’t want to run to them just yet. She hadn’t been close with them for very long, and though she was positive they’d take her side since they all had when her and Calvin had broken up in the first place, she still didn’t want to alienate anyone. Not yet, anyways. Katie wanted to make sure she was right in how she was feeling, and her mixed emotions were making it hard for her to see things objectively. She needed someone to do that for her, who wouldn’t automatically judge her. Only one name came to mind: Ben.
Sure, he was friends with Calvin. But he was also friends with Katie. In fact, he’d been friends with Katie first. But that didn’t matter. What mattered was that if she asked him to, Ben would give it to her how it was. There was just one problem. They’d been avoiding each other. His father had made it extremely difficult for her to even look at Ben at the risk of him thinking they were going to have sex right then and there. So she’d stayed away, and between work and getting ready for school, it was pretty easy not to be noticed. But she needed him! So she bit the bullet, texted him, and minutes later, showed up at his house. It was always convenient when you lived a little under a block away from someone, and you could literally take the fastest route there.
[ooc: Lyddia, feel free to c/p what your Ben tag was in Gdoc, and then I'll just reply to it here. Also, to players, the Katie/Emily thread isn't really finished yet but for the sake of timing and things, we needed to get this one up too.]
