What: Meeting the newest member of the Bailey Clan!

When: August 7th (A few days after Mia's post... Because Sam had work and stuff >_>)
Rating: PG to PG-13 I would imagine?
Status: INCOMPLETE

It had been busier at work than Sam had expected it to be in the summer. Then again, he'd never really told them to let up on his hours either. It didn't matter, he liked having a little money so he didn't have to ask his mom for anything, and he could keep that old heap his dad left behind running and shiny. Plus, art supplies weren't cheap.

Even so, he was glad to have a few days off, and was excited for a little time with Mia. Meeting the new kitten was just a really good excuse to go over there. Not that he needed one. She was practically his girlfriend. Except for the fact that he hadn't officially asked her yet. The summer was quickly drawing to a close and making it official was probably not a bad idea. That was all at the back of his mind though as he knocked on the door and patiently (finally) waited for an answer. At least he wasn't uncomfortable waiting for the door anymore.

Mia was absolutely in love with her kitten. He was the biggest snuggler she'd ever seen, love to play, and, she was thrilled to realize, understood the concept of a litter box. She was in the midst of leading him around her room with a string, which he chased after with serious gusto, when she heard the door.

Opting to leave her fluffball alone for a moment, she hurried down the stairs and pulled the door open to reveal Sam. "Hey!" she greeted cheerfully. It had been a while since she had seen him, honestly, and she thought she might have seen Tino just as much, if not more, which was... not something she was willing to go into with Sam standing in front of her.

She grinned broadly and stepped forward, stretching up on her tip toes to press a small kiss to his lips. "I've missed you."

	Sam grinned, "Hey! I missed you too!" He stepped into the house and wrapped his arms around her for a bear hug. "I'm sorry I've been so busy." It had been a while, and he felt pretty bad about it. Seeing her smiling and happy to see him was a plus though. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Mia giggled as his arms wrapped around her. She liked that he was so much bigger than her, that he could completely envelop her in his arms. "It's okay. I know you work and stuff." Although she didn't, which meant she had a lot of time on her hands to wish he was around. "Ready to meet our newest family member? I haven't named him yet in case someone claims him, but I don't think anyone will!"

Sam sighed and reluctantly let her go"Yeah, it's a lame excuse though. I figure when school starts, I can get them to ease up on my hours a little. I'm only taking three classes, so I'll have a lot more time to hang out." Oh the joys of starting college. Sam was actually a little nervous, mostly because he didn't know what he wanted to do.

"It's why I came over right?" He gave her a nudge to let her know that he was mostly kidding, "Well it's been a couple days. Maybe he's a stray?"

Mia cracked a smile at him. Hearing a boy admit that something was actually his fault was a nice change. "I keep forgetting that you're going to college. I'll miss seeing you around in the halls."

She gave him a gentle nudge back and took his hand to lead him up to her room. "Maybe. It sounds kind of horrible to say I hope no one is looking for him, but I'm already in love. I can't help myself!" She pushed open the door to reveal her fluff ball of love tangled up in the string he had clearly caught in her absence. "Oh, come here, you," she said with a grin, releasing Sam's hand to untangle him. She scooped him up when she had succeeded, and took him over to Sam, who he regarded with the big, curious eyes only a kitten has.

"I know, it's weird right?" It was a little intimidating, but it wasn't as if he didn't at least know of half the people at Hobbs anyway. It wasn't that big of an island. "I'll miss you too."

He followed her up to her room, grinning at the sight of the tangled kitten. There's something about an adorable fuzzball that makes most people's hearts melt. Sam wasn't made of stone, so he was won over pretty quickly. He reached out tentatively to scratch the kitten behind the ears, "Can I hold him?"

	Very delicately, Sam took the kitten from Mia. It was so incredibly soft and adorable, and holding it made him feel so entirely non-manly but it didn't even matter. The kitten was still so little he fit pretty comfortably in one of Sam's hands, so long as he didn't wiggle much. Sam scratched under it's chin. "Does he have a name yet?" Mia didn't mind the lack of manliness. Guys who liked animals were always a plus. Who didn't like cute fluffy baby animals? Seriously. It would be inhuman.

"No," she said, scratching the kitten's soft ears. "I haven't wanted to name him in case the owner comes forward. I don't think they will, though, so if you have any brilliant ideas, I'll keep them in mind after next week!"
