Adam's first instinct to that, predictably, was to shake his head. It wasn't about ego so much as it was about not wanting anyone to waste their money on him. He'd have felt the same if it was just a single tee, and the fact there were a lot of clothes mounting up to an expensive sum made it worse.
"The offer is appreciated," and it really was, "but I'd feel guilty about you funding my wardrobe for the next year. Don't make me kick your ass about this," he half-joked half-warned him, stepping backward, only to turn around and walk off to gather more shirts. He took them all from the back and only the ones with sharp crisp creases; Adam wasn't accustomed to trying things on when buying clothes, and as someone who usually just picked up what he wanted then went straight to the counter, he knew how to spot the unworn pieces.
