He nodded and leaned back on his hands. He didn't expect her to open up to him. He wasn't really a 'spill your heart to him' kind of guy. He never complained about that, though. The last thing he wanted to do was listen to the inane ramblings of teenage girls. But hearing about Sam troubles might have made him feel better, even minutely, as sad as that was.
"I'm fine. Just thinking, you know." He shrugged and looked away from her, blinking a few more times. He couldn't wipe at his eyes now. It'd look too obvious. "The wind is killing my eyes." It wasn't that windy.
