Ari parked the car and walked up to the doorstep, almost dragging her feet from working so many hours and having to do a majority of the running around since a lot of the nurses at the hospital were young and inexperienced. As she unlocked the door to her house, she put on a smile and closed it behind her. She sometimes wondered if she might come home one day to find Toby crawling around the house, getting into everything while her new husband was either passed out on the couch or just completely oblivious to him. She hoped it would never come but she always braced herself for the possibility.
But today obviously wasn't the day that was going to happen and Ari was glad because she was too tired to yell. Work was exhausting enough as is, she didn't want to have to deal with Scott messing something up. So as she kicked off her shoes and pulled her hair out of the snood she had stuffed it in, she called out to see where Scott had wandered off. "I'm home..? Hello?"
Ari had to admit that she was still getting used to this whole new life that she had. She was used to coming home and having her kids waddle over to her or at least have her husband greet her at the door and kiss her on the cheek. But with Scott, it was different. Not that Ari really wanted him kissing her or anything but a simple greeting would have sufficed. Sighing at the memories though, Ariella started peeking into each room to see where the two had wandered off to today.
