"No, NO," Rosie shook Sean as he started to nod off to sleep. "Sean, wake up. Sean, don't fall asleep. Talk to me. Talk to me while the ambulance drives here. Tell me about work. Tell me about how Donnie is a douche bag to you." Rosie was desperate to keep Sean from sleeping because she had always been told that someone who had a concussion shouldn't sleep.
She was about to say something in return to how he wanted her to at least give him a shot, when she saw the ambulance sirens approaching and then the screeching tires coming to a halt. "Sean, look, they're here." Rosie stood up and started waving her arms around as she called over the paramedics to come get Sean. She watched as they hoisted him onto a gurney and followed them to the ambulance, taking a seat in the back next to Sean. With out even thinking, Rosie grabbed Sean's hand and held it. "You're going to be okay." You have to, Rosie added in her head.
