Rosie sighed forcefully as she got even more mad at Sean. "You don't have to ask. You're basically asking for a relationship but without the official names." And then he was starting to swear at her and that only got Rosie even more mad. She may have been pissed at him but she wasn't about to start swearing and cussing him out.
As her almost always non-existent temper started to flare, the colors kept flashing across her vision but Rosie ignored them. Mother nature's chorus putting on a light show for her was the least of her worries as she started coming up with reasons as to not date Sean, though they were few and far between. "I'm not scared of anything," Rosie protested, anger evident on her face and in her body language.
Getting frustrated with the whole situation, Rosie got up and started walking away from Sean. She wasn't going to sit there and argue with him about how much she really cared about him. It meant she'd have to admit that she cared about him more than just a best friend, that she knew they really should be together. But commitment was too much for her. Her parents never got married and they weren't really committed to each other, and they were fine. Why couldn't she have that? Why was it so hard for Sean to understand that she didn't want to be exclusive? That she valued her freedom?
