"Just worry about getting better right now, yeah?" That was his main concern at the moment even moreso than worrying about whatever she wanted as Songbird. Protecting her from discovery was just another matter of many that was going to be involved. She was already in a weakened condition without having to worry about what some of the adults could do with her under the guise of some sort of test or another. There wasn't really much he could say about that, and even she wasn't quite 18 yet.
Eventually someone might get suspicious. I don't think there's been any sort of blasts since the one you put yourself in. Though I could always spread the room that you were so pissed off you figured it out and murdered her. Good luck finding the body. Creative writing was not a strong point, but he could probably try it out. How hard could it really be to get some information from people when he was already a reporter. "Off the Record" would just have an all new meaning. Plus it would throw it off of you if anyone is wondering. How could Penny Zimmerman possibly be Songbird when she's under 24/7 surveillance? He just raised his eyebrows a little. If they had a camera on them right now, it had to look kind of weird.
That is all you. I'd be sticking to PG projections right now. That had to be one of the drawbacks of being able to read her mind. He could tell exactly what she was thinking of just by giving her a few mild ideas and watch them just go from there. "I know. I think I'd rather hear it from you though than someone else in the long run... I don't know. I just know I don't want to be fighting right now."
