Penny cleared her throat. "Yeah, not my most graceful moment there, but you won't judge me, right?" Maybe she wouldn't, but Julliard would have fallen over dead if she sang like that at the auditions. Anyway, it was probably a good thing she wasn't auditioning now or any time soon. She wasn't sure she could muster a decent rendition of the scales right now much less a High C. "Yeah I know, but where am I going to find a kosher hot dog stand in New York? I'm going to google that at some point."
The thought of him being here for that long made her frown. "Huh." She appreciated how much everyone stood by her and cared for her, but she knew they had lives too. It was a good thing that Annie and Jacen and the rest of the kids were out of school for the summer. But Sully and her parents had jobs they had to go to. Sure, her dad could run the paper while mom played nurse, but how long was that going to fly for? She only hoped that like with all her previous illness, she would be out of here soon.
"I don't think I could work at a store. I don't buy a lot of things, so I'd probably be bad at selling them too." She only tended to get things when she really needed them or if it was some sort of holiday or birthday. Penny was a simple, Jewish girl, all stereotypes accounted for. "What do we raise money for? I vote something cool like the Space Station or something. And Julliard of course." She smiled just thinking about a ride on that Ferris Wheel.
