"Good... Trying to make traffic court seem interesting which is pretty much close to impossible." One thing the great writer Penny Zimmerman would probably never have to worry about. She could just about chose her own section of the paper and write the whole thing if she wanted. Of course it would also be flawless, but then she was just Penny. Who also shouldn't have the time to do an entire newspaper section unless it was half filled with letters to the editor anyhow.
Bast had to avoid the urge to get up and start pacing again but he had done about enough of that in the waiting room. They were going to have to see if there was a groove in the floor where he had been going back and forth just thinking. "I left though. And I also knew you hadn't been doing too well, but i just shrugged it off figuring that you would just get mad at me if I brought up going to see a doctor and now..." Well now she was in the hospital and completely blank on what was wrong with her. Though there was one thing he was pretty sure of, if he could get it to work. He just focused on her for a moment like he was really concentrating and just trying to put the thought into her head. You're sick enough though that you haven't even been checking my current power yet, have you? If this is even working... Blink twice and smile if you can hear me? I'm better at hearing thoughts than projecting them.
He just blinked his own eyes for a moment though. Johnny had been a wonderful cone of silence that he didn't have to try and block out everyone's thoughts and could just have his own mind. Even at the wedding he had been doing everything after sneaking Natalie's power just to block it out. Now he was just getting a little bit of a headache. "I'm getting mad at you though for telling me the truth. A truth that doesn't really hurt to know, but gives me the feeling too that you knew something like this might happen."
