Who: Rosie and anyone not leaving the island What: Bonfire Where: Crescent Beach When: 15 June; 10pm Rating: TBD
It was a Wednesday and an awkward night to host a bonfire on but Rosie didn't care. Summer started in to two days and school might as well be over since no one was doing anything in classes any more, any ways. Everyone was ready to celebrate graduation and the summer starting and some big wedding on the island that Rosie refused to go to because it was the ultimate commitment, which she wanted no part in (not that she really knew the couple anyways).
And so, immediately after school let out, Rosie ran down to Crescent Beach and started setting up a bonfire. She didn't light it but she put out logs for people to sit on and enough fire wood to stock them for the night. Making sure everything was nearly set, she left for the afternoon and went home to take a nap and have some dinner. Her parents didn't really care what she was up to - they knew that it would be hard for her to get in serious trouble with the island being so small and the policemen keeping an eye on the kids as well.
Around nine thirty Rosie headed down to Crescent Beach, the stars finally starting to shine through. With her backpack full of clinking beer cans and bottles, she made her way through the trees to the sand and smiled as she saw a modest showing of her friends and some kids she wasn't as familiar with, sitting around the fire and having a good time. Going over to join them, Rosie gently laid her back pack of beer down in the sand. "Hey guys!"
