It didn't matter if it was football season or the off season: you still had to keep training all through out the year. You couldn't just suit up in the fall and expect to be playing first string on the team. Especially if you were a girl. So Roz had been spending her time after school weight training on her own. Going out for the track team was too much effort and too structured for her to want to get involved in, so instead she prefered to use the school gym to work out on her own. No one was there to boss her around, no one was there to tell her to run laps, no one was there period. Occasionally some meat head would walk in and start pumping iron like he was hard core but Roz paid no attention to them, despite them paying attention to her. It was like they had never seen a girl working out in the gym and exercising without a yoga mat or cheerleading uniform on.
But Roz didn't care what people thought about her playing football. She was a damn good tight end and next year she was going to be in the starting line up - she could feel it already. But then again, there were probably going to be at least ten other boys who she would be fighting for that position on the front line who were all faster, stronger, and bigger than she was. Rosie wasn't about to disprove that but she was definitely more agile than they were and considering most other guys are afraid to tackle a girl, she had that advantage over the boys: she could dance across the field with more elegance and grace than her pinhead competition. Now all she had to do was beef up a little...
And that's where working out came in. So minding her own business and continuing with the bench press set at 125lbs., Rosie kept on her way and ignored he oafs doing barbell curls in the corner, staring her down like a piece of meat.
