Emily had been so much happier, happier than she had been for a while. Her camping trip had gone off without a hitch, no crazy stuff happened. Sure she had wanted to tell Sam that she was finally over all her stuff and if he was willing to take the chance she wanted to see if they could maybe be more than friends. Have it be their decision this time. But she chickened out. It was her birthday, she really didn't want any drama to happen. She didn't want him to agree just because he didn't want her to feel bad on her birthday. He was a nice guy and that was something he'd do. She could always mention it to him later. It was almost summer, she would have time.
Emily grabbed her guitar case, the journal with the song in it and rushed out of her house. She didn't want her dad trying to stop her or whatever. She was looking forward to this and no one was going to stop her. As soon as she was close to the Tibbits she typed Bethany a quick text so she wouldn't worry where she was. She flipped her phone shut and looked around her, the weather was absolutely lovely, spring time. She took a deep breath and smiled. Sure part of the weather had been her doing. She was in a good mood she couldn't help wanting the town to feel it too. But she'd let mother nature take over soon enough.
As she approached the house a sudden realization came to her. She had never came to their house ever. By what she had heard about it it was probably the type of home she would want. Where the parents were always there, they supported their children in their endeavors, and the children felt like they could talk to their parents about anything. It was also the home where the girl who Jacen had loved forever had once lived and now the home of the girl her currently loved. Normally that would have caused a pain in her chest and she had been waiting for it, but it never came. Her grin grew wider, she was over him, finally. She had believe it was too good to be true, but she was over him, she survived. She made her thoughts go back to the moment and raised her hand to press the doorbell as she waited.
