Laney giggled and shoved him back, sticking her tongue out in the process. "I like being grounded. It makes my parents more mad when I sneak out," she replied, laughing a little bit. Her parents were so stupid. She didn't hate them, but she severely disliked them. They were always trying to control everything and Laney wasn't really into that. "I left my window open too. Hopefully they don't lock it on me. They've done that before. I'm sleeping on your couch, if they do. Just so you know." She did a little hop over one of the cracks in the sidewalk. She was playing a game with herself, trying not to step on them. It was going swimmingly so far.
"No. I'm not scared. I've seen loads of scary movies," she lied. She was a little bit scared, to be honest. Not necessarily of the movie itself, but of the idea that someone could hurt you in your dreams was terrifying. "I might scream though. But only out of surprise, because I'm not a baby or anything."
