"Hey!" Grace laughed when Carter started to toss popcorn at them, and then even harder when she saw Julius try to catch some in his mouth. "You're the birthday boy so you should expect a little teasing to come your way. Don't blame us for that! But it's ok if you're a little sensitive about it." She gave him a mock pouty face and then laughed a bit more. Normally, at this moment she would mess up his hair or pat his shoulder or something to let him know they were just kidding but reaching over Julius to do it was a stunt she didn't really want to dare to try.
After she backed off and started staring at the tv, she grumbled wordlessly under her breath before sipping her soda again and then crossed her arms. Whether it may have been or not, it was a big deal to her. That moment was going to be hers forever, and she didn't want it to be wasted on someone she didn't care about. Not that doing it for Carter's movie was going to be a waste, not any stretch of the word, but still.
She didn't really say anything, just rather listening to their conversation. Ray? Really? She knew Carter better than to do casting like that for such an important role. It wasn't that she didn't believe in his talents, more like she just didn't see it suit him, as Julius was saying. But she supposed Ray was cute in his own way; maybe she wouldn't mind kissing him.
