"I'll just have to wait and see then, won't I?" If Grace was willing to watch it more than once then it must be at least alright for a movie. Even a potentially confusing one. "And I do have a talent for ruining things. Ask Dad about finding me knocked out in the attic with a hole in the roof. We never had the same babysitter from that night again." Oh the stories he could tell about his childhood antics alone. Was it really any wonder that his parents had waited so long to have another kid? Julius just popped a few pieced of popcorn into his mouth before offering the bowl over to Grace just in case. Hell, middle was fun as long as you didn't mind holding the popcorn and thinking people were purposefully rummaging around in the bowl on your lap for too long. Then he wasn't getting up without the popcorn bowl. The joys of being a teenage boy...
"You better not have burned it!" He just yelled at Carter's retreating back heading for the kitchen. Popcorn was one of those things that had a delicate balance between being done just enough that you got most of the kernels popped and getting too done. He sat back wondering how Carter had yet again managed to put him alone with Grace again. He could have just as easily gone to get the other bag when it came down to it. It wasn't like he was actually going to start the movie now without the birthday boy there. "So how is school going? Not too much longer and we won't all be the 'freshmeat' as Gabe seems to like calling us." At least there was popcorn to be distracting and stuff in his mouth if he ended up saying something wrong.
