Throwing off that mood with an effort, he ran his fingers up and down the fretboard. His turn, make it good. "Tell me if you recognize this?" Calvin said with a bit of a smirk. He started playing an instrumental medley, one song turning into a completely different song, maybe with some similarities, maybe not. At first when he switched songs he glanced up at Emily as if to make sure she was included in the transition, but as he played he increased the tempo until it took all his concentration to keep going. He ended with a discordant jangle, his fingers tangled. "Damn, I could have kept going longer if it wasn't for that one chord," he said. He strummed through a chord transition, back and forth at half speed. "Tricky," he said.
