An 'I was NOT being confusing' nearly slipped out of her mouth, though she held back from being that childish. Though, she really didn't think she was being confusing. Hesitant yes, confusing no. And could he blame her really after the answer he had given her? "No need to apologize," she said, glancing up at the screen. "I hope she does well though. She deserves that much. She works really hard." It would have been nice to see Annie make it big, even if she did forget about little Penny back at home. It didn't matter.
"Ah," she said with a nod. "Dating. Right. Of course." She popped some more popcorn into her mouth and slipped a little lower in her chair. Any lower than that and she was halfway to the floor. She had to remind herself that dating was fine, that there was no need to rush into any sort of commitment, that she didn't want to pressure him into anything. So, she took a breath and let it out slowly, calming herself and trying to get back to the way she felt before she had asked him that stupid question.
