It was always a pleasant surprise when Grace would realize how close the Hudson residence was to her own. She could easily walk to see Carter as opposed to riding her bike all the way down to his old house. It was much more convenient despite the circumstances that had led to him moving into the Hudsons' home. The upside was that she could come to see him much more often than the weekends outside of school. With Carter staying there, it had some other advantages like increasing the possibility of also running into Julius and that was never a bad thing.
As Grace strolled up the house, she noticed that someone was coming out. Mr. or Mrs. Hudson, or perhaps Carter? She stopped and raised an eyebrow to see the family dogs coming out first then to be followed by Julius. She froze for a moment, completely unsure of what to say. She would've been more prepared if he had answered the door but coming out as she walked up unexpectedly. Grace brushed her hair behind her ears and took a breath. "Hi Julius," she called as she waved to him.
