He had not heard a word she said, damn it. It was so hard for her to say it the first time, now she had to say it again. Now with him looking her in the eyes it was ten times harder for her to say. Sam's eyes looked so sweet, so innocent, so...wonderful. Emily tightened one of her hands into a fist then relaxed it to ease some of the tension. She bit her lip and tried to make the words form something cohesive in her head before she spoke,
"I said I was sorry for kissing you...and then running away...I shouldn't have done either...it was wrong. Running away wasn't a proper reaction I should have stayed and responded like an adult. Also I shouldn't have asked you to kiss me again just so I could prove or disprove something to myself. It wasn't fair to you, I'm sorry." As soon as the last work left her lips she broke the eye contact and looked down at her hands that now lay folded in her lap.
