"Actually," Penny began, reaching out to touch and turn every button and knob she could find, "I love it!" She dug around the middle for the compartment and though it was a bit dark in there, she found what she was looking for. Unzipping her bag, she pulled out an iPod cord and promptly hooked it up to her iPod before connecting the other side to the USB port. These ancient cars still had that. Once everything was in place, she unlocked her iPod and selected a song, making sure the car stereo was on AUX and the volume was low enough so that they could talk.
Finally, she was able to get back into their conversation, closing up her bag again and setting it down by her feet. With a shrug, she said, "Whatever you want. I don't really have homework that needs to be done right away, so it all depends on if you have work to finish." She looked out the window at the high school as the kids passed by the cars in the parking lot. Was this the typical "sitting in the car of the boyfriend outside the high school" scene? No. She shook her head and began to hum along with the melody of the song.
