Penny's iPod was still blasting a song from her playlist. She'd gotten distracted from turning it off when she caught sight of Bast giving a girl a kiss on the cheek. It wasn't like Penny to jump to conclusions, though she had to admit, it felt rather like a bomb had gone off in her stomach. It was only when she drew closer (albeit she was walking a little slower now) did she feel pretty stupid about her initial feeling. She could now sense Savannah's power in him, her own pulling away just crossing over the edge of Penny's senses. Her heart was already in overdrive. It didn't take much to set her off.
"Hey, uhm, yeah, I didn't go to my locker. I don't want to see another textbook for the next week." She instinctively tightened her grip on her bag. She didn't mean for it to look like she didn't trust him with it. She was just used to keeping things to herself, especially since her journal was in there. That was the most important thing of all. It took her a moment to decide whether it would be a good idea to let him carry her bag. She went over every possibly consequence, anything that could likely go wrong.
Eventually, she unshouldered it and handed it to him. It weighed next to nothing today since it had almost no books in it. "Thanks." She made sure not to touch him though. He must have had his reasons for taking his sister's powers after all.
