Macy watched as Seth stepped in front of her. Immediately, her posture changed. She was standing here, after all. She wasn't some type of trophy--to either of them! Macy belonged to herself, and no one else. Sometimes being softspoken and nice had it's drawbacks. People usually saw her as a doormat. Someone to walk over. And also someone to protect. She didn't need protecting. She was a big girl. She could handle herself. Sure, she needed a crutch every now and then, but who didn't. The point was, Seth answering for her was just a tad bit patronizing, even if he didn't mean for it to be. She could speak on her own!
"He asked me to come. So I did," she said, peeking around Seth to tell Noah. "Just friends." She eyed the man standing directly in front of her. How in the world could he possibly care about her that much? They hadn't had much in the way of conversations, or moments. She wasn't sure she'd even consider them friends. Acquaintances, maybe.
