Laney smiled back at him when he pulled away. "Yeah. It's fine," she replied, nodding her head. What was she supposed to say? It was great? It was, for the record. But no. She wasn't going to just say that. Instead, she dropped her gaze to his hands picking at her shirt. She couldn't ever remember him fussing over her like that. His hands were so close to touching her. She swallowed thickly and met his gaze again.
"I don't know how good I am, though," she said, She wasn't going to pretend to be an expert at kissing when she'd only done it the one time. Alfie was good. Laney could tell. He seemed to know what he was doing, even if he really didn't.
