Who: Carter Manning & Grace Bailey What: Going through Grandma Murtaugh's things and making a few discoveries When: backdated (because I fail) Friday, March 4th, after school Where: Manning residence Rating: PG Status: In-Progress
Once school was out he waited outside for Grace to meet him. He kept looking around and bouncing on the balls of his feet while he waited. He was a creature of habit and with his daily routine changing so much so rapidly it was hard to stay focused. Had it been a few months ago he would have been on his way home and he'd throw his bag on the kitchen table and his grandma would come in asking if he was hungry. Then he and Julius would walk to the house and they'd do their homework together and goof off. Well goof off as much as he could right now. He still was in mourning and while the Hudson's were great it just wasn't the same. And he knew things would never be the same again. He hoped that eventually he'd be the same.
He ran a hand through his hair as he continued waiting. Today he and Grace were going back to his old home to go through some of his grandma's things. Photos, papers, things like that. See what he could toss and what to keep. It was a little weird thinking about it. Deciding what had value in a person's life. He worried that maybe he'd get rid of something important and then find out later it was priceless. That is why he invited Grace. She might catch something he wouldn't also...he needed her there.
