Alex smiled broadly as she hugged her best friend, holding her close in the hug she sensed that Macy needed. "It does feel like forever. Then again, I really feel like I've lost a month of my life this week." Only a very slight eyeroll punctuated this remark before she perched daintily on her stool, sweeping her skirt gracefully underneath her. She let out a little sigh and then turned to Macy with a smile, and a face full of rapt attention. Although she was the one to start the speaking part of the conversation, Alex couldn't help but take in Macy's body language, her posture, her expressions, trying to figure out how much this whole Noah thing was bothering her.
Although she probably could've ranted about the hellish experience that was the week of music juries, she chose to summarize. "It was a lot like sophomore jury, but more intense. More profs there, for one thing, and they all knew me better. Dr. Luette loves me, of course, but it's not like they'd let my flute instructor run the whole jury. But it went really well!" Her eyes lit up excitedly. "I'm first chair flute for the orchestra and everything! So now all I have to do is get through a few written finals and cram for my theory II exam and I'll be golden." Another sigh, contented this time, and she turned her head slightly in a look of the subtlest concern. "But what about you? It sounds like a lot's happened and I missed it."
